Delta Dart Build (#1)

On Sunday, February 17, 2019, EAA Chapter 461 hosted a wind-up model airplane build in Hangar461. Several 461ers scoffed at the weather forecast calling for snow and braved the cold to try their hand at building an “AMA Delta Dart.”

With expert help from Arnie Zimmerman and Rich Tichy, the group learned how to read directions, measure and cut balsa wood, assemble completed structures, and – perhaps most importantly – use cyanoacrylate adhesive (a.k.a. “superglue”) and its accompanying accelerator solution WITHOUT getting their fingers stuck together!

A total of nine Darts were built and flown in just under two hours, and, judging by the smiles and laughter, it is safe to say a great time was had by all!
